How to start working on your project! No procrastination! No internal resistances

              RESISTANCE

Or stop listening to that voice in your head.

I call the fight against internal resistance the just-do-it-principle. Beginning, sitting down and getting started is easier said than done.

But let’s rewind.

Procrastination. You postpone. You have done it time and time again. You know it. You hate it.

You get up in the morning, during breakfast you think about the project you do not have to do, but want to do. You scheduled your whole day to have enough free time to sit down and devote to your task.

Then it is time to start.

But suddenly that nasty voice in your head chimes in. As soon as you are in front of it, there comes an objection from the inside of your head. It starts as a voice in the back of your mind. I could do this before. Then it becomes a gut feeling that keeps you from starting. Yes, I definitely should do this, then start afterwards. These excuses get repeated until noon. Instead of starting you have to do this or that. Then the afternoon is gone and nothing has been done. And finally you tell yourself, that it’s too late to start today. Again, you have postponed again.

Getting rid of vices & dependencies

VICE

Or stop being a junkie.

Vices are all of the diverse addictions that make us human beings suffer so much. Slowly, but surely like a deadly disease they chip away at our health bar. They make the real us wither away, as they take over a bigger part of our life. They’re a form of cancer, that is hard to diagnose.

Vices can be small and inconspicuous. They are annoying, are often not obviously threatening. In the short term they bring joy, distraction and relief. In the long run they harm.

Why should one get rid of vices? This is easy to answer for people who want to live a simpler and easier life. Dependencies are the opposite of freedom. It is impossible to live carefree, if you have to consider your addiction, when planing your day. They rob you of your freedom of choice. Small and medium sized vices may not limit you like a straitjacket, but they have a unpleasant grip on your choices like a too tight belt.

Be the hero of your own movie! Being happier & more satisfied

HERO

Or be the superhero in the movie of your life and activate your superpowers.

Being sick of yourself takes its toll. Beating yourself up everyday means you’re living a hard life. It’s exhausting. When you’re sitting in darkness, reminiscing about failures of past times, you are quick to say: Well, that’s me. That’s just who i am. What a loser.

Wrong, my friend. You don’t have to accept your current state of discomfort as your way of life. You carry too much baggage around. Not only the shame of your first drunk black outage. All the bad decisions, you can’t seem to get rid of, like that terrible tingling sensation in your nose, are luggage you have to leave behind.

First of all: When bad memories enter your mind, shake your head like a dog chewing on a toy. Throw them out! Bad thoughts never lead to progress. They make you a victim. Poor me! Yes, you should pity yourself, if all you do is think bad thoughts.

How to reach your goals! Guideline & Help!

GOALS

Or take your time, plan, then move forward step by step.

This chapter is about goals and finding a way to reach them. Everyone has goals. That’s a good thing, necessary even. Imagine, everyone would be happy with the now. Humans would have always been complacent with the present state. Everyone that came before us would have been just okay with how and where they are. Time for some stoner-thoughts. Without goals…

  • Would we still be single-celled?

  • Would we still have to bang on stones to spark a fire?

  • What’s for dinner? Berries.

Goals are a good thing, otherwise no one would want more. Therefore humanity would not be where it is now. You would not have a comfortable bed and no coffee maker. Imagine waking up after a short night on the floor. After you cracked your bones, there would be no cup of coffee to start the system. Unthinkable.

Weight: How to lose weight!

Weight | Or ideal weight makes life easier

everyday.

Weight is tricky. Nobody has the right to criticize yours, it is your business. But hey, we spent so much time together, we have become so close. I feel like we’re a unit. So … I’ll tackle the weight issue. When commenting on their weight, even a disparaging look is enough, many people feel attacked. Rightfully so. After all, ones current weight is nothing but the result of many small decisions. Yes, I’ll have that cake. Yeah sure, let me try that bagel. Of course I want a medium sized drink. If one gets told, he or she has a wrong fat content, that translates to many bad decisions.

The problem with those bad decisions is that they’re visible. They become, what we Germans call, your problem areas. You can’t really dismiss the criticism, if the problem is that obvious. You can’t even put the blame on others. I’m just chubby because 27 years ago my parents used to feed me too often. Not my fault! Not convincing, right?

This chapter is about losing weight. Why lose weight? Losing weight is the prototype of an easier life. It is the epitome. As this whole thing is about feeling as independent and free as possible, I feel like I need to address this issue. If you have only have to carry 70 kilos through the street instead of 100 kilos, life literally gets easier. Gravity is hard enough, we do not have to unnecessarily pack luggage onto the skeleton.
